Grades 5 and 6, up to 150 singers directed by Diane Skrobis
Diane Skrobis is the founder/director of the Children’s Choir of Waukesha, a choral program including five choirs spanning grades 1 through 12, and “The Singing Tree,” a pre-school music and movement program involving parent and child beginning with new-born babies through age 6. Diane has taught all grade levels from pre-school (including pre-natal) through adult. She has taught in the Kettle Moraine, Waukesha, and Whitnall School Districts as well as at Carroll College and Pius High School. Skrobis’ students have sung in local, state, district, national and international honor choirs for the past 23 years. Diane is currently director of music at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Oconomowoc. She is an active member of the American Choral Director’s Association and the Organization of American Kodaly Educator’s. Mrs. Diane has conducted state honor choirs in Wisconsin, Indiana, Georgia, and Mississippi and lectured on children’s choirs and early childhood music at Alverno College, Lawrence University, Carroll College, Silver Lake College as well as at state and district music conferences. The All-State Children's Choir will perform in the Shattuck Auditorium at Carroll University on Saturday, January 14 at 4:00 p.m.The All-State Children's Choir will consist of 150 singers from grades 5 and 6. The Application period, November 1 to Novmber 15, has ended. By November 29 UPON ACCEPTANCE: You will receive an email with attachments containing a Registration Form, rehearsal notes, schedule, and other details. By December 9 If you would like a Director's Packet, you may order it on the Registration Form, and it will be sent to you with the students' music. REGISTRATION: The All-State Children's Choir will register on Saturday, January 14, at First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186, from 8:00–8:30 A.M. Students will attend scheduled activities until their portion of the All-State Choirs concert is concluded. Parents are encouraged to begin arriving at Shattuck Auditorium at 3:30 p.m. for the 4:00 p.m. concert. REMINDER: REGISTRATION FEES FOR ACCEPTED STUDENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. |
